Paragraph Feedback Slides

Hi Grade 8s,

I have attached my feedback on your Japan paragraphs. Please look the slides over every time you write a paragraph and make sure you have done everything to the best of your ability.

Do not beat yourself up about your score! More formal paragraph writing is a skill that comes with practice and time. You will have more opportunities to work on this! Most students will improve by one point by the end of the year. For example: You could go from a 2 to a 3, or a 3 to a 4.

Also, check over the 6 point scale and do you best to guess what your paragraph would get out of six.

Binder Check: Monday's Class

For Monday, please be prepared to have your binder checked, so that you have everything we have done so far. You should have: a course outline your "If I could have three things..." writing [will be returned on Monday] your civilization graphic organizer (the 8 bubbles mind map) your two cause and consequence handouts - the chart and the note-taking sheet a copy of the "8 Aspects of Civilization"  your notes on evidence and primary sources If you are missing any of these, please see Mr. Frankson.
